A Single Typo Shouldn’t Cost You a Sale

A shopper types “running shos” and gets nothing back. Another types “red waterprof trail runners under $150” and hits the same wall. Both knew what they wanted.

Traditional site search relies on exact keyword matching, leaving shoppers stranded at “0 results found” screens.

Gladly understands what shoppers mean, typos and all. Instead of a dead end, they get products that fit what they asked for and a conversation that keeps them shopping.

Meta calls it the next generation of Andromeda. Everyone else says 2.0

On October 28 Meta published two posts about a rebuilt Andromeda.

It is real news. I just would not read the headline numbers as a promise for your account.

I covered the first Andromeda in #087 and why the panic around it was overrated in #089.

What Meta announced about the new Andromeda

Andromeda is the first step of ad ranking.

It narrows tens of millions of ads to a short list for each person.

Here is what Meta says is new:

  • It scores every eligible ad, not a pre-filtered few

  • It sends each ad to specialized expert models

  • It runs at over one billion ads per second on one GPU server, which Meta calls 100 times the 2024 system

The three Meta AI systems behind your ads

Andromeda

It finds the ads worth considering.

Meta says more of your ads, creative variations and products now get a look for each person.

GEM

It is the big model that trains the ranking models.

Meta says it now reads twice as long an engagement history, and that campaigns with few conversions can learn from other engagement data.

GenRecs

It uses an LLM to describe each ad's text and image in shared words, like brand, color, fit and style.

That lets Meta predict who will like a brand-new ad with little history.

What Meta's Andromeda numbers say, and don't

Meta credits Andromeda with 2.4% more Facebook conversions since 2025.

For Q2 2026 it reports 8.3% more clicks and a 15.7% conversion lift on Facebook, from the ranking system as a whole.

Those are Meta's numbers, with no baselines and no outside audit.

Your account will not necessarily move like that.

What I expect from Andromeda 2.0 in your Meta ads

This part is my view, not Meta's.

More of your ads get delivery. If every eligible ad gets scored, ads that sat at zero spend may finally show. Weak ads get that shot too.

Ads get read by what they say and show. Describing ads in shared words suggests lookalikes count for less, which fits what I wrote about creative acting as the targeting in #092.

I expect real differences in angle and offer to matter more than a new headline.

New ads start with less handicap. GenRecs can predict for ads with little history. A Meta VP told AdExchanger the system still has to learn, so expect a fairer first look, not a shortcut.

Small accounts may feel it. Meta says low-conversion campaigns now borrow learning from other engagement data. It gave no small-budget numbers, so I will believe it when I see it in an account.

What stays the same in your Meta ads account

There is no setting to enable, no new campaign type and no migration.

Meta says results still depend on the goal you set and the data you share.

In Europe that starts with consent mode set up right. An event the system never receives is a lesson it never learns.

The one truth about Meta's AI and your ads

Meta's AI can now read every ad you make.

It still cannot tell what a win means for your business.

TLDR:

  • Every eligible ad scored, GenRecs reads ads in words

  • 2.4% and 15.7% are Meta's claims, no baselines

  • Expect more ads delivered, real differences rewarded

Unlock up to $2 million licensing your company data

Have a business larger than 20 people that lives on Slack and is older than a year? Companies like Micro1 want to pay $100k - $2 million to license your data. They anonymize it and then use it to train the next set of frontier AI models.
